Remembering Toto’s Kingdom of Desire Tour

In 1992 I had the privilege to live out a dream of photographing Toto in concert in Europe during their Kingdom of Desire tour.
Back story: In mid or late July my friend Lauri was the director of their official fan club and gained us access (in the photo well and back stage). On August 5 drummer and founding member Jeff Porcaro died shortly after rehearsals began for the tour. Lauri and I were in shock and uncertain if we get to make the trip. Toto already had a commitment with tour dates set and asked Simon Phillips to fill in for the tour. Lauri and I resumed our plans to fly to the Netherlands to see five or so show in Rotterdam, Roubaix, Paris and Amsterdam.
The photos here are from most of those performances. I do have one “I wish” from that tour, in that I should have taken more behind the scenes photos. I guess I have to chalk it up to being a young and excited photographer getting to live a dream.
